About THE EVENt
Barnwood Trust is hosting a free event to launch the Access to Nature Hub; a new resource for anyone working to make nature in Gloucestershire more accessible and inclusive.
Whether you manage a space in nature, lead a nature organisation, work with community organisations and groups, or have lived experience of disabling barriers - this event is for you.
Join us to explore why access to nature matters and how we can take action. Through lived experience, honest conversations and practical examples, we’ll share ideas, tools and stories that can help us all create meaningful change in our own organisations, sites and communities.
Event Details:
Date: Wednesday 12th August 2026
Timings: 9:30am - 3:00pm
Location: The Barn at Berkeley, GL13 9EW
What's On
The day is built around connection as much as content, with space to hear powerful stories, meet people doing impactful work, and think together about what's possible.
- Keynote by Bethany Handley: Bethany is a writer, poet and disability activist from South Wales. Through her writing and consultancy work, she champions access to nature for everyone and believes everybody belongs in the outdoors.
- Launching the Access to Nature Hub: A guided introduction to the Hub - what's in it, who it's for and how it can support your work.
- Seed Talks: Short, inspiring talks from nature organisations, community-led projects and people with lived experience. More speakers to be announced soon.
- Breakout Sessions: Practical, choice-based sessions where you can go deeper on the topics most relevant to you. More details coming soon.
- Panel Discussion: A facilitated conversation bringing together a range of voices from across the sector, followed by open Q&A.
- Closing & Next Steps: Leave with one clear action you'll take - and a sense of the community working alongside you to make it happen
